Chemical & Biomolecular Engineering

The mission of the Department of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering at DAUST is to offer educational programs of the highest quality that will prepare students for leadership positions in the chemical, biochemical, biomedical, and materials industries.

Students from this program develop a firm and practical grasp of engineering principles and the underlying science associated with traditional chemical engineering applications and the analysis of biological systems. Upon completion of their studies, our graduates are well equipped to work in the following fields:

Civil & Environmental Engineering

Civil and Environmental Engineers are responsible for building and maintaining infrastructure to provide potable water, clean air, and safe buildings. The Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering (CEE) offers programs to help students prepare for careers in
  • Transportation engineering
  • Construction engineering
  • Hydrology and hydraulic engineering 
  • Geotechnical engineering
  • Energy, water, and environmental sustainability
Our students and graduates learn to improve sustainability of infrastructure related to water, energy and urban systems with respect to increasing demand from a growing population, climate-related disasters, and deterioration.

Electrical Engineering & Computer Science

The electrical Engineering and computer Science major applies mathematical and physical principles to a wide variety of electrical, electronic, computer-based devices and systems. Computer science majors learn about computer systems. Instruction includes programming and the theory and design of software.

Mechanical & Aerospace Engineering

The mechanical engineer’s interests encompass the design of automotive and aerospace systems, bioengineering devices, and energy-related technologies.

Our Aerospace concentration prepare engineers for success and leadership in the conception, design, implementation, and operation of aerospace and related engineering systems Graduates with a Mechanical and Aerospace engineering degree find careers in:

  • Energy Science and Engineering
  • Controls, Instrumentation, and Robotics
  • Design, Manufacturing, and Product Development
  • Nano/Micro Science and Technology
  • Bioengineering
  • Mechanics of Materials
