For the past ten months, the US Embassy Dakar and its Regional English Language Office (RELO) in collaboration with the Dakar American University of Science & Technology have provided English Classes to middle school students from disadvantaged and underprivileged backgrounds, through the ENGLISH ACCESS MICROSCHOLARSHIP program. For the length of the program, eighteen middle schools children from Tafsir Yate Ciss have been trained. Besides learning English, students also gain a better understanding of US culture and values. They learn about team work, community service, leadership skills, all the while having fun 🙂
